The Urantia Book is not sacred scripture. It speaks about religion and concerns the spirit, but it is in vain to look for commands, prohibitions or guidelines on how to walk the only right spiritual path. The sectogenic potential of the book is marginal. Before God, he makes everyone equal. Thus, it excludes the roles of possible self-proclaimed gurus. There is no room for infallible priests, anointed or better, who will demand rites and privileges in the name of the deity. The Urantia Papers in their heartfelt manner deal with superstition, witchcraft, possessions, and the broadly understood fear of unspecified evil. You won’t find bogeymen, threats, or godly methods to solve mundane problems; You will not learn what exactly you should do (and what not to do) so that you can stand at the gates of heaven after death. The Urantia Book is not a life guide. It does not create a new religion; it does not discredit the existing ones. Nor is it a whip for atheists.

The Urantia Book is not a scholarly publication. To a large extent, it refers to history, also to events that we cannot verify at the moment; also to astronomy, biology, physics and chemistry. The book text paints a picture of the universe that is closer to a vision created for the needs of a science-fiction script than to the often childish truths proclaimed by priests. Some of the facts presented in the papers are ahead of current scientific knowledge (Mr. and Mrs. Jaworski translated into Polish the texts of Irwin Ginsburgh — Scientific Prophecies of The Urantia Book and Ken Glasziou — Exact Sciences, Anthropology, Archaeology of the Urantia Transmissions, Przemysław Jaworski himself attempted to collect details about science in The Urantia Book), but they do not serve as proofs for the existence of God. The book does not try to compete with science, much less does it undermine it; by no means – the book text exposes progress as a pillar of the developing civilization.

The Urantia Book may be a curiosity. It is not easy. Looking for confirmations that all publications touching on faith in God are stupid, it is easy to discredit it. It can also inspire you to see the bigger picture; materialism, time and space, but also truth, feelings and spirit. The medium, the form and the content itself, detached from self-insight, are at most the background and useful tools.

The Urantia Book will not dramatically change anyone’s views. The Book has no power to convert. It will not lead you by the hand to Paradise. It will not promise a happy life, health or success. It is not based on fear or promises as gratification for obedience. It does not favor races, nations, groups, or individuals. On the contrary, it was written by someone who encourages a man to finally mature.

The Urantia Book is not what lazy believers would like it to be—it doesn’t explain, it doesn’t have clear answers, it doesn’t put on a pedestal, it doesn’t stigmatize anyone. Nor is The Urantia Book what militant atheists would like it to be—an infantile, science-deranged metaphor for a grandfather in the clouds.

Redefining religion, free will or sin circles. It shakes the religious life of believers; of non-believers to refresh their approach to atheism. At the same time, he encourages everyone to honest self-reflection; as spiritual as possible. So what is the Book of Urantia definitely not?
